Here you can find the latest happenings in the Meeting

Join us every First Day (Sunday) for meeting for worship at 11:00 a.m. in person or on Zoom, and  for midweek meeting on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. (in person only).

Wednesday, September 17 - Ministry & Nurture Committee meeting - 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 20 - Bucks Quarter Peace Fair at Buckingham Friends Meeting - Our meeting is once again responsible for the chili table. Volunteers are needed to make chili (meat and vegetarian needed) and cornbread  ahead of time, and to take a shift to heat and serve the chili on the day of the fair. The fair runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contact Kate Daly to sign up to help.

Monday, September 22 - Non-Violence Peacekeeping Training, from 6:30-8:30 at Middletown Friends Meetinghouse,  Free. With so many protests taking place in our community and throughout the nation on the horizon comes the threat of counter-protesting. Be as prepared as possible if/when confronted by counter-protesters or agitators who show up to disrupt the peace. Verbal conflict can quickly escalate to violence, so join us to learn some strategies to keep everyone as safe as possible.

This two-hour workshop will look at several situations where the crowd could have intervened for a peaceful outcome. We will also practice how to respond when faced with similar situations.

Facilitator: Barbara Simmons is the former executive director of The Peace Center and taught at Arcadia University's International Peace and Conflict Resolution program for 20 years. She is a peacekeeper for the Rainbow Room in Langhorne and for various protests and events throughout the Philadelphia region.

Saturday, September 27 - Memorial Service for Chris Blaydon at 11 a.m. Chris was the long-time mayor of Langhorne Borough and active in many local organizations, so a large crowd is expected. Volunteers are needed to help with parking and hospitality. Contact Lance Mervine if you can help.
